Jan Peter Oosterveld

Born in Emmen, in the Netherlands, in 1944.

In 1969 he got degree of bachelor in mechanical engineering and factory automation at Eindhoven Technical University, after it he became a master of management, Institute IESE, Barcelona.

Since 1972 he has been working for Philips in enterprises of Barcelona, Groningen, Drachten. In 1989, he founded and held the Philips Key Modules Business Group in enterprises of Barcelona, Groningen, Drachten

In 2002 he was appointed as Professor at IESE.

In 2003 he joined the Board of Directors of Continental in Germany.

In 2004 he became a member of the Board of Barco in Belgium, Cookson in the UK and Atos Origin in France. Also he is both a Fellow and an Advisory Board member of the Global Business Policy Council of AT Kearney.

He has been a member of the Board of Supervisors of the University of Groningen (Netherlands) since March 1, 2005.

In June 2005 he became a senior advisor of Morgan Stanley.

In July 2006 he became a chairman of the Board of Crucell.

Now Jan Oosterveld is a Professor at IESE Business School in Barcelona and the Chairman of the Board of Philips; a member of the American Ministry Board of commerce in Netherlands and a member of the Strategic Management Society, also he is the chairman of the International Academy of Management.

He is a regular lecturer at various business schools around the world.

His fundamental areas of interest are: management of transformation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic management.

On the 25th of September the Academic Council of State University of management appropriated Jan Oosterveld the Honorary Doctor rank of State University of Management.

The ceremony of the commencement of the mantel and the medal to Jan Oosterveld was held on the 25th of October during the13th International Study and Practical Conference.
